India win Auckland T20I by seven wickets, level series 1-1

CRICKET- Indian team led by stand-in skipper Rohit Sharma defeated New Zealand by seven wickets at Auckland on Friday to level the three match T20I series 1-1.

Batting first, the Kiwis put on board a modest target of 159 and in response, the Indian team chased the win with seven balls to spare.

For Kiwis, Colin de Grandhomme scored 50 and along with a partnership with Taylor set up 159 as target for the visitors. Krunal Pandya took 3/28 and Khaleel Ahmed returned with the figure of 2/27.

Chasing the win, skipper Rohit Sharma scored another half century and passed the baton to Shankar, Rishabh Pant and MS Dhoni to finish off the match in style and that they did.

The third and deciding ODI will be played at Hamilton on Sunday.
