CRICKET- Indian team led by Harmanpreet Kaur lost the second T20I against New Zealand by four wickets at Auckland on Friday to concede the series.
Batting first, Indian team posted a modest target of 136 on score board. Despite being 72/2 after the first 10 overs, the middle order could not put anything substantial on board, thus contributing only 63 runs in the last 10 overs.
In response, New Zealand took its time but won the match at the last ball to take an unassailable lead in the three match series.
In the post-match presentation, Harmanpreet said, “I think we should give credit to our bowlers, it wasn’t a good total but still they fought for us. We were 20 runs short, They played better cricket than us.”
New Zealand captain Amy Satherwaite is happy with the win but admitted that the chase should not have stretched to the last over.
The third and final match of the series is to be played on Sunday in Hamilton.
