FOOTBALL- The Las Vegas police has asked Portugal star Cristiano Ronaldo to submit a DNA sample as part of the investigation into allegations of rape against him.

Former model Kathryn Mayorga, 34, of Las Vegas, accused Ronaldo of raping her in 2009 in a complaint filed last year in the state of Nevada.

Ronaldo has denied the allegations and claims the relationship between them was consensual and his DNA will of course be present.

Ronaldo’s lawyer has called the investigation procedure normal, echoing the sentiments of Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department who said it is “taking the same steps in this case as in any other sexual assault to facilitate the collection of DNA evidence.”

Mayorga further said she was paid $375,000 to sign a non-disclosure agreement at that time but she decided to speak out after being inspired by the #MeToo movement against sexual harassment.
