Leicester City crash helicopter rotor pedal failed

LONDON- The helicopter crash that killed Leicester City owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha was caused by disconnected cockpit pedals.

As per a report by Britain's Air Accident Investigation Branch (AAIB), “The loss of control of the helicopter resulted from the tail rotor actuator control shaft becoming disconnected from the actuator lever mechanism.”

The AAIB said it was treating a further probe into what caused the pedals to disconnect "as a priority".

Thai billionaire Srivaddhanaprabha and four others died on October 28 when the helicopter they were travelling in spun out of control on takeoff moments after it cleared Leicester stadium's roof.
