BADMINTON- Three-time Olympic silver medallist Lee Chong Wei is expected to return to badminton training court within a fortnight.
The Malaysian former world number one was diagnosed with nose cancer earlier this year. He underwent surgery and was recently given a clean bill of health from doctors.
Norza Zakaria, president of the Badminton Association of Malaysia, said, “I’m sure he will be ready by the time the Olympic qualifying period commences on May 1.”
Lee is eyeing the All England Open in March and wants to be fit to win the Olympic gold medal at the 2020 Tokyo Games.
