CRICKET- Gautam Gambhir has announced his retirement from international cricket. He won the 2007 World Twenty20 and 2011 World Cup with the Indian team.
Gambhir, 37, played 58 Tests, 147 one-day internationals and 37 Twenty20s for India since his ODI debut in 2003.
Announcing his retirement, Gambhir said, “Someone up there was writing my script but now it looks like he has run out of ink.”
His last appearance on field will be the Ranji Trophy match for Delhi against Andhra on Thursday.
Gambhir won the Indian Premier League with Kolkata Knight Riders in 2012 and 2014 and also captained Delhi Daredevils in the 2018 Premier League.
