BUENOS AIRES- Archana Kamath on Wednesday became the first Indian ever to reach the last four of table tennis at the Youth Olympics.
“It was a very tough match and she fought till the very end, so I’m very happy that I could win. I’m really excited for the semifinals,” Archana said after the win.
18-year-old Archana defeated Azerbaijan’s Jing Ning 4-3. She will take on China’s Yingsha Sun (second seed) in the semi-final.
If Archana wins the semi-final, she will be guaranteed a medal. If she loses, she would have to play the bronze medal play-off.
