FRANKFURT- Former Tour de France winner Jan Ullrich has been held in Frankfurt, Germany for assaulting a prostitute.

He was arrested early Friday, just a week after he was briefly detained in Spain for jumping a neighbour’s fence.

Ullrich reportedly called for the services of a prostitute at the Villa Kennedy hotel in Frankfurt, but then got into a quarrel with her and physically attacked and injured her.

The 44 year old German won the race in 1997, the only German so far to win the race. He also won an Olympic gold in Sydney in 2000.
