TECHNOLOGY- Facebook’s chief security officer Alex Stamos is leaving the social media platform to join Stanford University.
Stamos was formerly a security officer at Yahoo. He joined Facebook in 2015 and will leaver later this month.
In a Facebook post published on Wednesday, Mr Stamos said, “I have been proud to work with some of the most skilled and dedicated security professionals in the world in one of the most difficult threat environments faced by any technology company.”
He will join a new working group in Stanford that will focus on information warfare, designed to inform politicians, the media and others about new threats.
As per a New York Times report, Facebook does not plan to appoint a successor of Stamos.
