Indian Cricketer Harmanpreet Kaur’s name has been doing rounds pertaining to the controversy over her fake degree. The Punjab Government is thinking of demoting her to the rank of a constable in Punjab Police over the fake degree row. Earlier Punjab Government led by Captain Amarinder Singh had given her the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP).

Amid this, the Human Rights lawyers are raising voice against her honorary appointment asserting that it was a shame that the cricketer used a forged degree to obtain recruitment as a DSP in Punjab Police.

However, the claims made by cricketer herself reveal that she was unaware of her fake degree. As per the reports, her coach got her admission in the university, saying it was flexible about exams. She later on disclosed that she was given the degree but had no inkling that it was fake. It was after the government sent her degree for verification to the Meerut University, it was found fake leaving the cricketer ashamed.
