LOS ANGELES- Basketball player Tyler Honeycutt, who earlier played for Sacramento King, died on Friday after a shootout with Los Angeles police.
Honeycutt's mother reportedly called the police because Tyler, 28 was acting "erratically". He reportedly fired on officers and later died of self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Police found him "unresponsive" at his residence in the Sherman Oaks area of Los Angeles.
Tyler was currently playing for Moscow’s BC Khimki. The team confirmed his death on Twitter.
