HOLLYWOOD- Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom has crossed $1 billion (Rs 6800 crore) at the worldwide box office.
It is the 35th film in history to achieve the milestone. Avengers: Infinity War and Black Panther are the two movies that crossed the $1 billion mark this year.
The sequel cost $170 million to make and has so far earned a domestic total of $304.8 million and $700.7 million overseas.
The story of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom follows two characters who rush to help rescue the dinosaurs on the abandoned island of Isla Nublar after a volcano erupts.
Fallen Kingdom was directed by Spanish filmmaker JA Bayona and starred Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard.
