THAILAND- Rescue teams have started a mission to evacuate 12 boys and their coach who have been trapped in a cave since June 23.
Teams entered the cave at 10:00 local time (03:00 GMT), operation Chief Narongsak Osottanakorn told reporters.
Thirteen foreign divers and five from the Thai Navy are involved in the rescue mission. Apart from the diving teams, medics and security forces, no one else is allowed near the site.
Rescue officials hope to get the boys out at the earliest by 21:00 local time (14:00 GMT) on Sunday.
It has not been specified how the rescue teams aim to get the boys out. Earlier it was said that chimneys have been dug to evacuate the boys from the surface top.
The boys and their coach were exploring the cave on June 23 when they got trapped after the cave flooded.
