FIFA boss invites Thailand cave boys to 2018 World Cup final

FOOTBALL- Global soccer body FIFA’s President Gianni Infantino has invited Thailand cave boys to the final of 2018 FIFA World Cup.

The 12 boys and their coach are stranded in a cave since last two weeks after rising flood waters trapped them in the dark cave.

“If, as we all hope, they are reunited with their families in the coming days and their health allows them to travel, FIFA would be delighted to invite them to attend the 2018 World Cup final as our guests,” Infantino wrote in a letter to the head of the Football Association of Thailand.

“I sincerely hope that they will be able to join us at the final, which will undoubtedly be a wonderful moment of communion and celebration.”

Support for the boys all aged between 11-16 have been pouring in rom around the world. “The world of football hopes that someone can find a way to take these kids out of there,” Brazuilm legend Ronaldo said.

“We are following all the news and hoping every second that you see daylight again,” Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp said.

In the latest news of the rescue efforts, one member of the Thai rescue team lost his life while he was coming back from supplying oxygen to the boys.
