BADMINTON- India’s Sai Praneeth settled for a bronze in the men’s singles event at the ongoing BWF World Badminton Championships on Saturday.
Sai was no match for defending champion Kento Momota and went on to lose 21-13, 21-8 in the semi-final.
Sai’ bronze medal win is India’s first medal win at World Championships in 36 years.
Momota will now face either Anders Antonsen of Denmark or Thailand’s Kantaphon Wangcharoen in the final.
In women’s singles, PV Sindhu reached her third consecutive world championship final.
