BADMINTON- India’s campaign at the BWF World Championships started with a win on Monday as Sai Praneeth advanced to round 2.
Praneeth thrashed Canadian Jason Anthony Ho-Shue 21-17, 21-16 in just 40 minutes.
The 16th seed Indian will next face the winner of match between Lee Dong Keun and Daniel Fan.
In women’s doubles, Meghana Jakkampudi and Poorvisha S Ram also won against Guatemala’s Diana and Nikete.
HS Prannoy, Kidmabi Sriknath and Sameer Verma are in action later today. They will face Eetu Heino, Nhat Nguyen of Ireland and Loh Kean Yew respectively.
