CRICKET- Indian batsman Shikhar Dhawan has been ruled out of the ongoing ICC ODI Word Cup with a thumb injury and will be replaced by young wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant.

Dhawan suffered the injury after being hit by a Pat Cummins delivery during his 109 ball 117 knock against Australia on June 9.

Dhawan was initially ruled out of three games but in a fresh assessment of his thumb fracture, it was ruled that he will remain in a cast until the middle of July and therefore will not be available for the remainder of the World Cup.
