CYCLING- Four time Tour de France champion Chris Froome underwent surgery on Thursday and has been shifted to Intensive Care Unit in a Saint-Etienne hospital in France.
Froome, 34, suffered multiple fractures after he lost control of his bike and slammed into the wall of a house at full speed during practice ahead of the fourth stage of the Criterium du Dauphine race on Wednesday.
He fractured his pelvis, right femur and was left with broken ribs and a broken elbow.
He will remain in hospital for two more days before a final decision is taken on whether to shift him back home to Britain.
Froome will not compete in the Tour de France race and entire focus would be on his speedy recovery.
