Bolivian referee dies after collapsing during match

FOOTBALL- Bolivian referee Victor Hugo Hurtado has died after collapsing during a match played at a high altitude.

Bolivia's football federation informed that a Bolivian League match was being played between Always Ready and Oriente Petrolero at Municipal Stadium in El Alto, 3,900m (12,795ft) above sea level. Victor, 31, suffered a heart attack in the 47th minute and was immediately taken to hospital where he suffered another attack which proved fatal.

Bolivia president Evo Morales Ayma tweeted his condolences to Victor’s family and friends.
