CRICKET- Indian women cricketer Harmanpreet Kaur’s father has said his daughter will complete her graduation if the government is ready to give her time.

Punjab Government on Wednesday withdrew the deputy superintendent of police (DSP) rank given to Harmanpreet after a vigilance inquiry by Chaudhary Charan Singh University (CCSU), Meerut found her graduation degree to be a fake.

Giving information about the matter, her father Harmandar Singh said, “I can’t say whether she will continue in the department as a constable. We have not received any written orders of demotion from the department.”

“The government should retain her as an honorary DSP and give her time to complete her degree,” he said.

He also said Harmanpreet pursued her graduation from Meerut only on the advice of her coach and so the fault lies with him.

But Jalandhar Cantonment MLA and former Indian hockey player Pargat Singh is not in favour of giving more time to Harmanpreet arguing others will also seek similar treatment.
