The people of Haryana, by giving a clean sweep win to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), have made one thing clear that they have no interest in the alternative politics served to them by the regional parties namely the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) and the Jannayak Janata Party (JJP). However, a major blow has been dealt to INLD that once had given stalwarts like OM Prakash Chautala as Chief Minister of the state.
However, in the Lok Sabha elections throughout the past years, INLD has never been able to give a good fight to its opponents. This time it gave the worst ever performance. In the 16th Lok Sabha elections, the INLD won two seats. Dushyant Chautala was elected from the Hisar Lok Sabha seat and Charanjeet Singh Rori was elected from Sirsa Lok Sabha seat.
However, Dushyant Chautala after a family feud formed his own party JJP that could not make its mark in the politics of Haryana. The entire Chautala clan suffered a major defeat as all the three great grandsons of former Deputy PM Devi Lal lost miserably.
