Sunder munderiye, tera kon vichara, dullah bhatti vala, the hymn of Lohri that enthralled the audience and the beats of dhol added more rhythm and colours to the magnificent Lohri celebrations at Panjab University Chandigarh. The Panjab University Campus Student Council (PUCSC) organised an event to celebrate 'Lohri' at Panjab University's student centre. Along with this, as DJ belted out hit after hit, students couldn’t resist going to the dance floor and danced away to glory as a befitting tribute to the North Indian Festival of ‘Lohri’.

The occasion marked great fervour for the students. There were various games and events in which students marked their presence. Good portions of Rewri, Gajak and Mungfali (Peanuts) were available and students were seen enjoying these popular ‘Lohri’ delicacies, as they broke into interesting jigs to celebrate the festival.

PU Vice Chancellor Arun Kumar Grover was also seen dancing and enjoying with the students. Addressing the students and faculty members on the festival, VC lauded the efforts of the Chandigarh Administration and particularly, UT Administrator VP Singh Badnore for projecting PU as a University with rich heritage and of National Importance in a meeting with Hon’ble Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu, Vice-
President of India and Chancellor, Panjab University.

Overall, the celebrations marked great success and students were seen enjoying to the fullest. The entire student centre was full with students. All the members of PUCSC thanked students and authorities for making the festival celebrations a great success.
